On the Merits of Exercise and Schedules

To my Dear Loved-ones,

It is always strange to return to the Towers from the Manor- one must adjust their concept of Home and there is so much messy arranging and rearranging of schedules before one finds a Proper Fit. Be that as it may, I feel I have become nicely settled-in at last. There is something calming to having a Daily Schedule that I never quite Appreciated before. While I am far too Featherheaded to plan a day to precision, my Meals and Mornings have become far more regular in the times that they begin, which is more than a convenience as I hear such Regularity is beneficial to a “bonne santé.”

I had decided before my return that I should take more care of my Health. Therefore, I have been endeavoring to take care not to Overindulge in the various sweets that have ever been my weakness and Miss Vendeville and I have had occasion to start taking our Daily Exercises together. I find this to be a large contributor to my current Schedule, for we take our Exercise at the same time daily. I must admit I find myself much more Refreshed in the mornings now, and have noticed that my strength has improved. Miss Vendeville has expressed some doubt as to the Womanly Charm of being “too” fit, but I find myself in Disagreement with her city sensibilities. Maybe it was my boyish country upbringing, but I take pride in the knowledge that I am somewhat more Rough and Tumble than many girls. Perhaps now that I am becoming older I should make efforts to be more demure and gentle, but as an Unattached and Independent Woman, surely it is important to be able to look after myself!

I did have more that I wished to share, but I would find myself in danger of being Tardy to class should I stay to write it all, so I must leave it as this for the present, and wish you all Much Love!
